Personal Defense Group Classes

We offer Personal Defense group classes upon request. Our Shotokan Karate Chief Instructor has taught hundreds of people from all walks of life over the past 15 years. He is the Technical Director of Street and Combative Techniques for the United Karate Associates International, and has trained and studied with some of the best instructors in the world.

Our Personal Defense class focuses on three things:

  1. How NOT to be a victim. How to avoid and defuse potential violent encounters.
  2. How to determine if violence is unavoidable, and how to pre-emptively end the encounter.
  3. The legal and emotional after-effects of a violent encounter.

The class is realistic and real-world. There are no complex wrist locks or throws or unrealistic scenarios that serve only to make the instructor look good. Adrenaline, gross motor movements, flinch response, OODA, and other fundamental principles of violence are covered. Real violence is chaotic and kinetic. Your awareness and response need to take that into account.
